Constitution

La constitution et les règlements actuellement en vigueur sont ceux qui ont été révisés le 10 juillet 2003 et approuvés en anglais par le Club canin canadien le 19 août 2003. Le 15 août 2005, le conseil d’administration du CQBB statuait que la version anglaise acceptée avait pour l’instant préséance sur toute version française. Cette situation prévaut jusqu’à ce qu’une mise à jour française soit finalisée par le conseil d’administration actuel et éventuellement approuvée par les membres en règle.

Constitution

SECTION 1:

  • 1.1 The name of this club shall be: Le Club Québécois du bouvier bernois ( The Bernese Mountain Dog Club of Québec (BMDCQ).
  • 1.2 The state of operation shall be the province of Quebec

SECTION 2:
The club shall work in co-operation with the National Breed Club, the Canadian Kenne Club, and may further affiliate itself with organizations devoted to the aims and object of the Club, any such association to be approved by the Board members.

SECTION 3:

  1. To encourage, promote, advance and protect the breeding of purebred Bernese Mountain Dog and do all possible to bring their natural qualities to perfection.
  2. To urge club members and breeders to accept the standard of the breed as approved by the Canadian Kennel Club as the only standard by which the Bernese Mountain Dog will be judged.
  3. To endorse the code of ethics and insure its usage.
  4. To do all in it’s power to protect and advance the interests of the breed and to encourage sportsmanlike competition at dog shows and trials, be it conformation, obedience, field trials or tests.
  5. To educate the public and members at large in the benefits of purebred dogs.
  6. To provide a rescue service.
  7. To contact new owners, inform them with the club’s aims, activities and services and welcome them to membership.

SECTION 4:
This Club will be an event-giving club, held under the rules of the Canadian Kennel Club and will abide by the principles of the Canadian Kennel Club Code of Ethics.

SECTION 5:
The club shall not be conducted or operated for profit and no part of any profits or remainde or residue from dues and donations to the club shall inure to the benefit of any member or individual. Nor shall the club endorse any privately produced activity, product or publication.

SECTION 6:
The members of the club shall adopt and may from time to time revise such by-laws as may be required to carry out these objects. Amendments to the constitution and bye-laws must have two-thirds (2/3) vote of all eligible members. Voting must be by mail in ballot; proxies are not permitted. Amendments may be proposed by the board or petition from members.
